  • Satywart Kadian of India won a bronze medal in the 96-kg freestyle category at the World Junior Wrestling Championships in Sofia, Bulgaria .

  • The world's shortest woman, Jyoti Amge, whose height is a little below 25 inches, released the biggest book measuring 30 x 24 feet at a function at Jaipur. The religious book written by Jain Muni Shri Tarun Sagar titled 'Kadve Pravachan' weighs 2,000 kgs. 

  • Eminent Sarod Player Rajiv Taranath of Mysore gets Basavaraj Rajguru award.
